DAY 02 - HABARANA | SIGIRIYA | POLONNARUWA
Sigiriya is an ancient palace located in the Matale district and is also known as the lion’s rock due
to its structure. While holidaying in Sri Lanka travellers, are bound to come across a wide range of
hotel groups and boutique hotels such as the Heritance Hotels group that offers excursions to many
cultural sites in the areas.
Consisting of many historical buildings, Hindu and Buddhist statues, shrines and the palace of
King Parakumbahu the ancient city of Polonnaruwa is considered as a sacred city among many in

DAY 03 - HABARANA | DAMBULLA | MATALE | PERADENIYA | KANDY
Located in Dambulla, the Rock Temple too stands for Sri Lanka’s rich heritage. The temple is
interconnected with the Golden Temple and run by one administration. The temple had the royal
patronage of several kings such as Vattagamini Abhaya, Parakramabahu, Nissankamalala, and
Keerthi Sri Rajasinghe. Enjoy the woodland surroundings and interacting with the cheeky monkey
tribes that seem to have claimed the area as their private abode.
Step into a world of amazing lush greenery at the beautiful Peradeniya Gardens, one of the finest of
its kind in Asia for the large variety of flora and beautiful scenery. While most of the island is warm
throughout the year, this hill country location gives Peradeniya a cool Mediterranean climate, ideal
for the range of flora grown at the gardens. This garden attracts approximately 1.2 million visitors
annually, and with its coverage of nearly 150 acres, there is much to see and do here

DAY 04 - KANDY | PINNAWALA | KANDY
Elephants have long held a revered place in Asian society. From being used in warfare to carrying
sacred religious relics, these gentle giants are an integral part of local culture in countries such as
Sri Lanka. Giving you a unique chance to get up close with these iconic animals, the Pinnawala
Elephant Orphanage has quickly become one of the most popular attractions in the country, drawing
large numbers of tourists as well as locals, eager to get up close with elephants.
Kandy, the citadel among the hills, is world famous for its most extravagant Esala Perahera. You
also get the chance to witness a cultural event that showcases the rich and vibrant culture of this
island.

DAY 05 - KANDY | NUWARA ELIYA
Visit a tea plantation and a tea factory. Sri Lanka, Tea and Tourism are words which cannot be
separated. Take a tour to the cold & misty hills that take pride of an ultimate tea tour, covering lush
green blankets of tea plantations. Or just step into a tea factory processing the prestigious brand of
Ceylon Tea, to observe a rich tradition kept alive up to date. As you observe the hissing and
swishing of machines, inhaling the heavenly scent arising from these facilities, make sure to end
your day in style over a perfectly blended cup of pure Ceylon Tea.

Misty steep roads, twisting through lush green blankets of tea bushes in a cool climate, remind
visitors that they are within the range of the renowned British colonial retreat, Nuwara Eliya.
Augmented by an English countryside atmosphere, the city of light - once governed by English &
Scottish planters - is still studded with colonial bungalows, hedgerows & one of the finest 18-hole
golf courses in the world. A hike through the green grass and red-brick walls should present breath-
taking views of a buzzing countryside hamlet. Hop into a rattling train smoking and hissing its way
through green valleys of the hill country pierced by endless waterfalls & dotted by tea pluckers
draped in bright-coloured saris or rent a bike for a gentle ride along the banks splashed by the
waters of Lake Gregory.

DAY 06 - NUWARA ELIYA | KITULGALA | GALLE BEACH HOTEL
The Kelani River, the broadest river in Sri Lanka, flowing through Kitulgala was the main location
where the Oscar-winning movie Bridge on the River Kwai was filmed. On the hill above this
town, a prehistoric cave was recently discovered containing large middens of shells from some
unknown civilization.
